Dwelo is happy and excited to announce the integration with Google’s smart home devices Google Home and Nest, furthering our mission to make rental housing more magical, efficient, and connected!

Google Nest

The Dwelo + Nest integration allows Nest to be properly implemented into multifamily communities. Before an integration with a smart apartment provider like Dwelo, Nest thermostats had to be factory reset every time a unit turned over. With our multifamily integration, managers can be confident they're providing the best smart hardware to their residents while ensuring only the right users have access.

Here are some other reasons to choose Nest:

Adjust thermostat hands free and remotely

With Dwelo in hand, residents are able to control the climate of their smart apartment from anywhere. Wether residents are nestled up in bed and want to be that much warmer or headed home from work and want to be welcomed by a cool apartment, Dwelo + Nest gives residents that flexibility.

Save energy and money

Independent studies have shown that the Nest Thermostat saves homeowners about 10%-12% on heating and 15% on cooling. This translates to a savings of about $140 per year.

Nest automatically turns off the AC a few minutes early, but keeps the fan running. The air stays cool but the AC runs up to 30% less.

Beautiful color options

The 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat now comes in four colors to fit any style: copper, stainless steel, black, and white. With thermostat rings from copper and steel to black and white, there’s a Nest Thermostat for every apartment.

Google Home

Dwelo will pair and operate with the Google Home device in a similar manner to other voice services. Dwelo residents can control the lights, lock, and temperature of their apartment vocally. The magic of controlling your apartment is not constrained to your fingertips any longer.

A full list of commands that the Google Assistant understands can be found at Google Home Help. Here are some examples to get you started:

  • "Lock the front door."

  • "Turn on the kitchen light."

  • "Set the thermostat to 72 degrees."

  • "What's the temperature in here?"

  • "What's my thermostat set to?"

  • "Is the front door locked?"

The expansion of integrated voice services to the Google Home allows managers and residents to select and use their platform of choice, instead of being restricted. Indeed, integrating with Google Home empowers leasing agents to say “Yes we can!” and offer more flexibility to potential residents that want freedom to use to be limited.
